The National Conference Center's Next 'E-I-E-I-O'

In an effort to expand The National Conference Center's farm to table program, the executive team at the property is looking into their next farming adventure. Executive Chef Craig Mason has his eye on 1,200 acres in Clark County, Virginia, which will serve as an additional site for growing produce. The conference center currently sources 20%-30% of their produce locally from Linda's Mercantile and Farm Market in Winchester, Virginia and Blue Ridge Produce in Elkwood, Virginia. 'Changing Lives': ARAMARK highlights healthy eating and living with American Heart Association and Cooking Light Magazine

It's a nationwide trend to promote healthy eating and living. The human resources department at The National Conference Center's created a three-month long competition titled the 'Biggest Winner' to promote healthier lifestyles and eating habits. The participating associates lost 300 lbs total as a team.

To reinforce this effort, ARAMARK is doing BIG things on a corporate level and across the conference center collection. During the month of February, the conference center dining room will feature grab-and-go salads on Wednesdays to promote American Heart Month. On Thursdays, the dining room will serve healhty options highlighted in Cooking Light magazine. The new menus offerings also promote food for thought, healthy items that are essential in creating the most productive meetings.
